I agree.  If I post a question to the list I often use my university email
but I subscribed using my ISP's email.

What about applying some filtering rules on the list server?  For example,
automatically reject any emails with all capital letters.

But then again, the number of spams on this list, in my opinion, is relative
fewer than some other mailing lists.
