[R] further on ESS/XEmacs for Windows

The problem of Rterm.exe not quitting under ESS appears to me to be new to 
R 1.6.1. This doesn't seem to be a problem using John Fox's ESS setup. 
My  .emacs  prior to using John's setup had the line:

(setq-default inferior-R-program-name "c:/usr/local/R/bin/Rterm.exe")

Could this be a problem?
