[R] help.start( )

It doesn't help much, but it works fine on my SuSE 8.2 box, using 
R-1.7.1 (patched) and Mozlla 1.2.1.  I've also used Konqueror (the KDE 
browser/file manager) using help.start(browser="konqueror").  Have you 
tried that (or Galleon, or Opera, or ...)?
