Hear, hear. To my knowledge, there are the versions
0.94-1 and 0.95-6 of XML available at the URL given in the ReadMe cited 
by Brian Ripley. Note that this ReadMe points to 
http://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/RWin/ !!!
