[R] introduction slides for beginners

Dear Armin,

I have a variety of materials at
<http://socserv.socsci.mcmaster.ca/jfox/Courses/S-course/index.html>, though
the slides are minimal; most of the material is in the script files. The
introductory lecture (of seven lectures) takes me two hours.
