[R] Unlogical phenomenon caused by locator

I was wondering if someone could help me!

Here is what I don't understand!
Why the text in the function isn't showing up before the locator action?

toto<-function(){
cat("Why this text isn't showing up before the point selection !!!!!!!!")

return(point)

P.S.:  I am using the most recent version of R for mac
