[R] BLAS or ATLAS?

In makeconf I get
BLAS_LIBS = -lblas

I believe that actually means configure was able to use the BLAS you
specified (MKL in this case).  You can scan through config.log to make
sure.
in config.log....can't seem to find any reference to the Intel BLAS.
