It you want to superimpose the curves, for example:

t=seq(-5,5,.1)
plot(t,exp(-t*t),type='l')
lines(t,sin(t)*sin(t))


If you want to plot on separate plotting areas:

par(mfcol=c(1,2))
plot(t,exp(-t*t),type='l')
plot(t,sin(t)*sin(t),type='l')
