[R] Bug in lmer?

    Just to add more info:

    I've got the same error with both lme4 0.95-10 &
Matrix 0.95-13 and lme4 0.98-1 & Matrix 0.98-7, always
running on Win98SE, R 2.1.1. So it seems to occur with
any Windows version.
