Another possibility is eapply where I have used naCount
from Henrik's solution:

prop <- function(x)
 list(class = data.class(x), dim = dim(x), size = object.size(x), NAs
= naCount(x))
do.call("rbind", eapply(.GlobalEnv, prop))
