Orca hasn't really existed for some years now. At the time it looked as 
though Java (and Java3D) would provide a good way of producing a 
widely-portable modular dynamic graphics system, but this didn't work.

I think GGobi has taken over that ecological niche in development. There 
are also nice tools from the Augsburgers and from Bioconductor.
