[R] Labels in plot()

Those are warnings, not errors. You probably are looking for

plot(xy, ann = FALSE, axes = FALSE)

If you want a box drawn around the plot still, try

plot(xy, ann = FALSE, axes = FALSE, frame.plot = TRUE)

see ?plot.default and ?axes for more options.
