[R] R help on for loop

hi,

I have a data stored in table format. The data is stored in the name map.

500545  rows and 3 columns.

I want to use a for loop to scan through till the end of the row.
can i use like this.

for ( i in 1:row(map)
{
}

Kindly clarify me
