[R] How good is R at making publication quality tables?

If you are working in Windows and want Word output,
it might be worthwhile to have a look at SWord
available from the download section on rcom.univie.ac.at.

Warning: the program is free for noncommercial use,
but NOT licensed under GPL or LGPL.
