Sorry I can't follow.  Could you pls explain in more detail.

e.g.

> dim(z) <- c(3,4,2)
> dim(z)
[1] 3 4 2

, , 1

     [,1] [,2] [,3] [,4]
[1,]    0    3    6    9
[2,]    1    4    7   10
[3,]    2    5    8   11

, , 2

     [,1] [,2] [,3] [,4]
[1,]   12   15   18   21
[2,]   13   16   19   22
[3,]   14   17   20   23
