[R] Combining two variables in text

Hi all,

how can I manually create a data.frame or similar object to display in a
textplot, that omits column and row numbers/headings? 

Also, how can I combine several variables in text
i.e. suppose I have 
a <- "one"
b <- "two"
then what expression can I place in 
title(main=...)
in terms of a and b to give an output title of 
"one, two" 
i.e. a then b separated by a comma.
