A. You failed to follow the instructions in 'R Installation and 
Administration' about how to set your toolchain: it would be easier to 
upgrade to Rtools215, for which R 2.14.2 is configured by default (but 
can be told how to use Rtools214).

B. Is libmysql.dll 32- or 64-bit?  Both variants exist, and you need to 
match the version of R you use.
