[R] R on Android

Or, you could have gotten yourself a copy of the tar program....

Nothing is supposed to, that just sets a couple of variables.

What happens if you say 

bin/R

from the sdcard/gcc folder? 

(I have no specific knowledge about android, but that's how it would generally work in a unix-alike shell)
