[R] extract GO results in xml format

from a list of GO term enrichment results in xml format, what is the best way to extract term and p-value columns? Which function is the best to use? I used  xmlToDataFrame but got 
Error in `[<-.data.frame`(`*tmp*`, i, names(nodes[[i]]), value = c("5",  : 
  duplicate subscripts for columns
