[BioC] hist and mva.pairs problems

You are using the Windows version, right ? (Guessing from the fact you mention 'zip' files). I have no easy access to that version now, so I'll try with
Linux.

data(islands)
hist(islands) 

data(affybatch.example)
hist(affybatch.example)

...works here...Could you specify what is the 'basic histogram function' ?
