[BioC] Bioinformatics position available in lipidomics biomarker research

Dear List,

at the Cambridge Lipidomics Biomarker Research Initiative (CLBRI), which 
is hosted at the Medical Research Council for Human Nutrition Research 
(Cambridge/UK) we wish to appoint a Computational Scientist to play a 
vital role in the bioinformatics group. The post holder will have the 
opportunity to develop and implement software solutions for the analysis 
of large lipidomics datasets. The work will involve optimization and 
implementation of software-based solutions to improve the efficiency of 
the data workflow.

The post holder will have the opportunity to present data at both formal 
and informal meetings with collaborators and at national and 
international conferences. The successful candidate will also be 
required to produce written reports and prepare manuscripts for 
peer-reviewed journals in collaboration with the CLBRI team and outside 
partners.

Applicants for this post will hold an MSc or higher in either biology, 
biochemistry, bioinformatics or chemistry. A track record in software 
development for bioinformatics is desired.

This is a full time position offered on a 2 year fixed term contract 
with salary dependent on qualifications and experience (£19,624 to 
£21,276 per annum). In addition to your salary we offer a flexible pay 
and reward policy, 30 days annual leave, free on site car parking and 
optional membership of MRC’s final salary pension scheme.
