[R] ?Corrupt Recommended packages source

I'm not really sure this is the place to raise this, but here goes anyway.

I've downloaded the 1.4.0 recommended package sources
R-1.4.0-recommended.tgz multiple times from the main CRAN site. The
sources have arrived corrupted each time (from multiple computers BTW). If
I download the same file from the UCLA or University of Bristol mirror, I
also get corrupt archive files. On the other hand, if I download from the
University of Wisconsin mirror, the file arrives uncorrupted. I've
verified this at each site multiple times using computers attached to T1
lines, to DSL lines, and to cable modem lines.

I don't know much about mirroring, but is it possible that some mirror
sites are storing (possibly) corrupted archive files while other sites have
uncorrupted copies?

I don't have this problem with any other files on the CRAN master site.
