[R] Building problem: leftover from old OS

Hello,

I have updated my OS from Solaris 2.7 to Solaris 2.8, and I am trying
to build R 1.9.1. Configure seems to run fine, resulting in the message:

R is now configured for sparc-sun-solaris2.8

  Source directory: .
  Installation directory: /usr/local

  C compiler: cc -xO5 -dalign -xlic_lib=sunperf
  C++ compiler:              CC  -xO5 -dalign
  Fortran compiler: f95 -xO5 -dalign -xlic_lib=sunperf

  Interfaces supported: X11
  External libraries: BLAS(none), LAPACK(in blas)
  Additional capabilities: PNG, JPEG
  Options enabled: R profiling

  Recommended packages: yes

Unfortunately, the generated file ./src/appl/Makefile contains the lines:

approx.o: approx.c ../../src/include/config.h \
 ../../src/include/R_ext/Arith.h \
 /opt/gnu/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-sun-solaris2.7/2.95.2/include/math.h \

and, since the mentioned file doesn't exist (actually, there is no gcc
on my machine yet), invoking make results in the following error:

make[3]: Entering directory `/usr/local/R/R-1.9.1/src/appl'
make[3]: *** No rule to make target
   `/opt/gnu/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-sun-solaris2.7/2.95.2/include/math.h',
   needed by `approx.o'. Stop.

Do you have any idea of what is going on here?

Thanks in advance,
Giovanni
