[R] Error installing extrafonts from local zip file

Those are not zip files.  You need to use (at the command line)

R CMD INSTALL extrafont_0.16.tar.gz

(assuming you have already installed the dependencies).

However, I suggest you use R 3.1.0 alpha which has support for Arial 
built in.
