Yes, provided that you have installed R 1.7.1.  Bioconductor 1.2 works.

I am using OS X 10.2.6, 640MB 867MHz G4 Powerbook.  I run R on X11.

A little off topic, remember to use vecLib option when you configure R.
Otherwise, it's pretty straightforward installation.
(i.e.  ./configure --with-blas="-framework vecLib" --with-lapack --with-x
R_PAPERSIZE='letter' R_BROWSER='open')
