XML for Data

Sometime ago, I created a DTD for the Omega project as an experiment
and was able to parse it and convert it to a DOM as was needed using
some freely available IBM tools.

However, it was quite experimental and the design clearly reflected my
own frustrations with dealing with Intro Stat text books data. Time
constraints prevented me from really using it in Fall 1998, especially
because software was not readily available as it is now.

The combination of XML and Java is especially seamless. IBM, Sun all
provide automatic tools for creating DOMs.

The DDI project sounds interesting and I think input from us would
really be nice.
